financial literacy for kids

Money Class for Families introduces the importance of developing the habits of saving, spending, investing, and donating. Participants learn about The Money Jars and how to create their own system for managing money.  They are introduced to and play The Money Game receiving paychecks, paying bills, and either spending money on "piddlycrap" or saving for later. "Pay yourself first" and other Money Camp principles are emphasized. Creating and remembering goals are emphasized.

Money Class for Middle School Reintroduces saving, spending, investing and donating money through the money game and asks participants to share their Goals with pictures.  The Three Pillars of Wealth (Business, Stock Market, Real Estate) become second nature in understanding passive income.  Wants vs. needs are identified discussed in drafting a Saving/Spending Budget. Finally, learning about leverage and the four ways people make and earn money are learned through games.

Money Class for High School focuses on using your own money (cash, checks, ATM) and the reality of using other people's money (credit, charge cards). Participants learn about good debt vs bad debt, assets vs. liabilities. Interactive Simple vs. Compound interest activities help ground the learning and power of compound interest. Finally, participants look at the history of the stock market and managing risk through games. Retirement accounts are introduced.

Allowance Camp for Parents

Money Class for Moms:

Moms will have an opportunity to learn one way of managing family money and getting their kids off on the right foot towards saving! Many Moms manage the family money and often only with instinct as their guide. So, who ever told us how much is supposed to go where? Find out if you need to establish a financial direction, modify what you are doing, or stick to the plan that you have. In addition:

Learn what credit card companies hope you do.
Learn sources and importance of passive income.
Create a spending/saving plan
